This project focused on tints and shades. Students painted a background of tints using the rule of thirds, created an interesting silhouette, and painted it by making a shade of the same color.
Color families were the focus behind this project. These 5th graders designed their
weavings and made these with a certain color family in mind. Can you
tell which family was used? Some artists chose to combine color families in a way
that you can see more than just one.
These drawings were created after a study of unity, proportion, and composition. Students
had to draw from life (their hands), and use elements and principles
of their choice after that.
