In this project, third-graders were using symbols to represent themselves. They also learned about positive and negative space.

After viewing some Medieval architecture with rose windows, students
created their own rose window using radial balance.
Marker and plastic were used as the media.
This was more a a process type of art. Students learned about value, tints, and shades.
They practiced observational drawing of forms, and they used what they
learned to add value to them.
